Push and Pull Animation

The challenge of this animation was to understand how the body works when pushing and pulling. There are many things to think about, like how the character's head and neck dip down when pushing hard and then up when pulling. The story behind this animation is supposed to be about a caveman putting his mother-in-law out of the cave. The animation could have been longer, but it still works with only 28 frames.

Walk Cycle Animation Basics

Making 2d animations is always harder than what it seems. Understanding the basics of animation is the first part. With walk cycles, you as the animator need to not only learn the mechanics of the characters, but also add exaggeration to the character to show gravity and weight.

Cintiq Digital Drawing

2 minute sketches created on Cintiq machine (Took 10 minutes). It's basically a large touch screen computer that allows you to draw with a wireless pen. Tim Decker, instructor here at MATC teaches the digital life drawing class. The class goes for 4 hours and consists of drawing a model in 2 minute increments. This is not easy to do, because there is no time to add details, but in the end it makes you a better artist.

Three Stooges

Not all my sketches are done in ink. This one was done using a very light pencil to practice shading. This could be used as a beginning point for penciling in with darker shades and adding more depth.

Taj Mahal

Attempting to draw more arquitecture, but needs more work. Although it does not look straight, it's still teaches me to use line tools and to try using a different ink for my pen (One that flows more freely).

Sven's Cafe

Sitting at another cafe and drawing what I see. This style of drawing gives me more practice to develop a style that can look more unique.

Cafe Alterra

Occasionally I go to cafe's to draw people to better understand how to draw facial features. Sometimes people do not like when someone is staring at them or drawing them so instead I draw blank figures.

Sumo Wrestlers

Looking through pictures of sports, I came across an interesting picture of two sumo wrestlers and decided it was going to be my drawing for the day.

Angels and Demons

To create a drawing everyday was not as easy as I thought it was going to be. This drawing was created over a couple of days only because I was too busy working on other things. It was still good practice for doing detailed drawings.

First Drawing

The idea behind this drawing was to draw something eveyday, no matter what it is. Just to keep practicing.
